Here is a wrap up of the Arizona Wildcat’s #1 recruiting class for 2012:

My Take on York.
Super bouncy, great athlete, great range, and projects super high offensively. Definately a great player for a run and gun type of system that Miller wants to get into. The more I see him, the more I like him, and how well he projects. Hits tough contested shots and will relish an opportunity to take a shot in any kind of situation. Needs to improve defensively, but has a reputation of being a hard worker and great competitor. Very coachable.

Another top priority recruit for Miller and another HUGE commitment. Ashley is versatile, has good footwork, he’s a very good athlete, and has amazing length. Known right now as more of a face up 4 man with the ability to go down low and finish with both hands. He can also keep you honest with his ability to drive and hit mid range jumpers. He needs to pack on weight, tighten up his handles, and the sky is the limit for this kid. Like every Miller recruit, he’s a hard worker and is very coachable. The great thing about Ashley, is he’s still growing into his body and he still has the tools to improve his game moreso than any of the other commits. Which is amazing considering he is a top 10 player in his class already.

The most polished player of our commited players. He’s very crafty, long, and highly skilled. An underrated player to a degree. While he may not have the ceiling of Tarc or Ashley, he very well may be our best big man during his college career. A good-not great athlete who seems to do everything well. He’s a good defender, a good shot blocker, and has a great mid range game that keeps defenders honest. He’s great at backing opponents down and finishing from either shoulder with a hook shot. Definately excited about this kid and a major steal away from rival UCLA who was thought to be the leader for his services. He needs to get quicker and tighten up his handles. Definately will benefit from packing on weight and soaking up coaching. Very heady player.

Our rawest prospect. Great size, good athleticism, 7 footer. Stolen away from Kansas. Great prospect, long and has a solid foot work. I think he will benefit from our depth in the front court. He won’t be called on to do too much too early. I think he needs to soak up coaching and learn to be more physical. He is a little foul prone and isn’t an elite shot blocker. Needs to work on his motor. He’s gonna be a great player, all the tools are there.
